ARC Discovery Program success! Human-robot interaction in financial markets

Congratulations to Peter Bossaerts after his success in the 2018 funding round of the Australian Research Council Discovery Program!

The project, titled “A New Framework To Improve Human-Robot Interaction in Financial Markets” aims at investigating interaction of humans with robots (automated, algorithmic traders) in financial markets. It will build a novel experimental testing ground for robots and human-robot interaction. It is expected to discover how market participants choose to engage robots, when and why robots are disengaged, how robot use impacts price behaviour, including causing flash crashes, and whether robot use enhances allocation efficiency. It is to provide a unique hands-on teaching ground to familiarise even non-tech experts with inevitable automation.

The award provides $364,921 over three years.
