Brisbane, February 9-10, SEF Conference on Experimental Finance

The Society for Experimental Finance (SEF) is pleased to announce a regional Asia-Pacific meeting in Brisbane QLD, Australia, on February 9 & 10 2018. The meeting follows a conference of the Economic Science Association (ESA) in the same location and will start with a dinner on Friday (9 February) and a full day of sessions on Saturday (10 February). The keynote speaker will be Professor Elena Asparouhova from the Eccles School of Business, University of Utah.

Anyone interested in experimental finance is strongly urged to submit a paper for presentation or for a poster session. If you are not into experimental finance, but intrigued what it is about, you are welcome to attend. Experimental finance is a rapidly growing field, and members of the Society have managed to publish in all the top journals of finance, prestigious economics journals (Econometrica, American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory,…), as well as general science journals such as Science and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Researchers in asset pricing theory are especially encouraged to participate, after the successful NSF Sundance Conference in 2015.

Paper submission can be done through the website of the Society for Experimental Finance (SEF). Conference registration will be handled by SEF through this link. However, if you’d like to attend BOTH the meetings of the Economic Science Association (ESA) AND the SEF meeting, please register through the ESA website. You will receive a discount for attending both conferences.

Brisbane is subtropical, and February is in the midst of their Summer. From Brisbane it is a short hop to the Great Barrier Reef. As this reef is being destroyed by Global Warming, this would be your chance to still see parts of it in its full glory.

Local organizers: Lionel Page (Queensland University of Technology), Stephen Cheung (University of Sydney), and Peter Bossaerts (University of Melbourne).
